We encourage and enable individuals and communities to harness their own resources for securing the basic necessities of life and for gaining greater economic, social and spiritual fulfillment, while honoring their customs, language, and religious beliefs.

AMURT has established teams in 12 countries that strive to help people break the cycle of poverty and gain greater control over their lives. For us, development is human exchange: people sharing wisdom, knowledge and experience to build a better world.

They responded very quickly & communicated well. I was able to work with them before some other volunteer organizations even got back to me. I'll definitely be working with them again in the future.

I've been a volunteer with them for more than 3 years. it's an authentic organization that 'walks the talk' and does it with much care and humility. a great opportunity to work with amazing people to make a real difference!

I volunteer with them in DC and love it. A truly great bunch of people who are in it to help people. Almost all donations go directly to their causes. I thoroughly recommend them.
