Lyngblomsten in Lino Lakes houses older adults who live independently, with assistance and those who are living with memory loss. There are an array of activities planned for older adults of all ages and Lyngblomsten is looking forward to welcoming volunteers to enhance the lives of older adults through music, friendship, activities (crafts/hobbies) and more! Volunteers are also invited to serve in the small gift shop, cafe and even the tavern! Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes has a pool, exercise room, golf simulator, pickle ball court and more. One of the many benefits of volunteering with Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes is that after 6 volunteer shifts, the volunteer gets to come to a scheduled volunteer time every other week to use the amenities. Volunteers benefit by being active, social and engaged in a positive and meaningful way. As a volunteer, you will get to pick the days and times that you volunteer and the manner in which you do it. Southern Anoka Community Assistance Food Shelf is in need of many volunteers to help hungry neighbors. Since the pandemic, food shelves have been vital in giving out nutritious food to community members who found themselves unemployed or under-employed. Currently, inflation is taking a toll on already financially strapped community members. SACA is invites volunteers to serve in these areas: Food Market Give a helping hand and assist clients while they pick out their groceries in the food market. Volunteers assist clients shop, stock shelves and keep the area clean. You will need to lift up to 20 lbs. Warehouse Volunteer The true backbone of SACA's operation is the warehouse. Help sort and check dates of food, stock shelves, unload the truck(s), organize and keep the area clean. Ideally volunteers would be able to lift 20-30 lbs. Shifts are available M-Th in morning or afternoon. Intake/Administration Assistant If you enjoy interacting with people, consider volunteering for the intake/administration position! As the first point of contact for clients, you will help them schedule appointments, check-in and may assist with other administrative tasks. Intake volunteers are needed on Tuesday through Thursday in the mornings or afternoons.

Join the Anoka County Medlink Team! It's a great way to give back to the community by investing your time with seniors, veterans and clients of Anoka County. Volunteers are needed to take seniors and veterans to their medical appointment and bring them home. Services are offered between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Volunteers gain personal satisfaction, recognition and flexible scheduling. "I have been volunteering with MedLink for approximately 5 years now, and the part I like best is the people. It's nice to meet someone and have a chance to gain a new friend. A lot of people are helped and volunteering is fun". Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Volunteers are also required to have current automobile insurance and a vehicle that is in safe working order. Personal satisfaction, recognition and appreciation, mileage reimbursement and flexible scheduling are a few benefits volunteers receive.

Become an Anoka County Ambassador volunteer! The Anoka County Ambassador Program provides volunteers with first-hand experience in various facets of Anoka Court Administration. This is an excellent opportunity for citizens who would like to make an impact in our community. The ambassador serves as the first point of contact for our diverse population. Ambassadors may perform a variety of tasks, depending on the current need. The ambassador will help direct the flow of traffic during high volume court calendars. In addition, the ambassador may assist with transcribing responses to court forms for litigants that cannot write in English. The County Ambassador is a representative of the court; their presence will help promote safety and efficiency as well as create a positive and welcoming environment for constituents.
