Purpose of WakeMed Volunteer Services Departments:
To provide services supplemental to essential services which contribute to total patient care; to help create and promote in the community an understanding of the healthcare system and its services through the volunteer who becomes a part of the organization family; to provide an environment for learning and skills development; and to provide to the community a means of giving to meet the human needs.
The Volunteers at WakeMed Raleigh Campus and The Volunteers at WakeMed Cary Hospital recognize their place in the community and their dedication to excellent patient care and encourage the participation of interested and qualified individuals in volunteer services to the hospital.

Volunteered here from 2013- to 2019 as an Ambassador, escorting visitors around hospital, etc weekly on Thursdays until COVID hit.
It was a great experience and I would do it again if I had not moved away from the area.

I was a patient at WakeMed Rehab Hospital for 5 weeks, following a massive brain hemorrhage, and would like to give back to those who helped me. I have made a miraculous recovery, and would like to encourage others in similar circumstances.

I have volunteer for the Senior Citizen and I really enjoyed the answer phones, filing, and a day at the Park for Senior Citizen Day. I would like to help out at the hospital and get to meet more peoples that I can help, even if it's only giving out direction.
