Mission Statement
Disability Services of Colorado provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.
Description
Our mission is to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in their communities. Through our audiology program, children and adults are able to receive the gift of hearing. Through our camping and recreational services campers with disabilities experience independent living and a sense of freedom, contributing to their own sense of self-worth and confidence. This month we will be starting a program that will provide in-home therapy to families of children with autism. Next month we will begin our new respite program. Our support groups for stroke, epilepsy, and post polio are wonderful times of both heartfelt empathy as well as practical solutions for daily living with a disability. The public education services provided through our American Sign Language classes is also seen as a true service to our community.
