Tree Trimmer/Arborist Volunteer

This volunteer opportunity does not have to be daily or weekly, it could be a monthly gig! The museum is looking for someone who can trim the trees that surround the museum and our vehicles. We have volunteers that can do the clean up part, we just need someone who is skilled or enjoys trimming trees on their free time! We need this done because we have two large broken branches on the property and we would like to ensure safety of our guests and volunteers. It also helps prevent natural disasters such as fires reaching into the property. We do have the equipment needed to do the job! We have electric chainsaws, hydraulic clippers, and a small gas chipper. We hope we hear from you and that you would love to donate your time to a non-profit museum that educates our community in American Military History. We had two branches off our rock pine fall on one of our trucks, there is a big need for trimming.

Military Museum Vehicle and Sign Stenciler / Painter

Calling all artists and artists to be!! Those with great design and art skills are needed! The museum needs your art skills to help with creating nice signs for days we need them. Re-painting old signs to make them look nice and presentable to the general public as well as stenciling/painting on historical vehicles. The museum is geting a cricut machine to help !! We have stenciling machines to make your job easier and the supplies to paint for all these projects. All we ask for is your donated time and skills. If you have these skills, and love to help a non-profit organization that has really cool historic vehicles, come and help us out! Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Fundraising Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for nonprofit work, excellent writing and communication skills, and experience or interest in fundraising. You will play a crucial role in organizing and managing fundraising efforts to support our museum's programs and initiatives. Responsibilities: Fundraising Projects: Develop and manage fundraising campaigns on platforms such as GoFundMe. Create compelling campaigns that resonate with potential donors. Grant Applications: Identify and apply for public and private grants to secure additional funding for the museum. Charitable Outreach: Reach out to organizations and potential donors to solicit charitable contributions and sponsorships. Campaign Strategy: Assist in creating and implementing strategies to enhance fundraising efforts and reach financial goals. Qualifications: Strong Writing Skills: Ability to craft persuasive and engaging content for fundraising campaigns, grant proposals, and donor communications. Part time docent for Military Tank Museum (Fridays or Saturdays or Sundays)

Our museum is open on Fri-Sun from 10:00am to 4:30pm. We need a museum docent for Friday-Saturdays or Sundays . We could definitely use a hand in educating visitors from our community and young school groups that mainly come in on Fridays. Docent shifts can range from 9am to 1pm or 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Before opening, we do our safety checks and make sure the museum is ready to be opened. We set up small displays and any other signs we need for that day. At the end of the day, we help with cleaning up the museum. If you thoroughly love history and want to help teach the community of our nation's past and present mechanics, this is the museum for you. And if you are a veteran of the United States military we'd love to have you as well! If you can help keep military history alive, come join us! We'd love to have you. No experience needed. The American Society of Military History is the largest military museum and library on this western half of the United States. It was incorporated in Southern California in 1962 as a California Non-profit Educational Organization. We have over 170 exhibits (including tanks, trucks, jeeps, cannons, hummers, and more), a large workshop for fabrication and mechanical repairs, and a library.
