Mission Statement

  1. We provide bilingual/bi-cultural services in the social, educational, medical, and legal fields to Japanese newcomers as a group or individuals on a direct and or referral basis.
  2. Serve as a bridge between the Japanese newcomer community and the existing local, state and federal institutions.
  3. Provide indirect services to help Japanese newcomers and members cope with adjusting to American society through programs and activities.

Description

At Nobiru-kai, we believe newcomers have a bright future in the United States, they just need adequate supports and guidance for adjusting to a new life. With providing supports for those new comers who are facing the issues, Nobiru-kai plays a crucial role to provide the place where they can be educated about the new environment and introducing the available resources in the community.

Even though here are some organizations, serving Japanese-speaking population in Bay Area, in Oakland, and San Francisco, the Nobiru-kai is a unique one. Since the Japanese-speaking people we serve are really diverse from the students through the permanent residents. This richness in the population is able to create a "hotspot" where people can get together and exchange information etc.
