Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a no-kill, temporary shelter for stray domesticated animals while they are being rehabilitated and receiving vet care. In addition, we will provide a low-cost spay and neuter program for feral cats. Sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife will be rehabilitated and, when possible, released back into the wild. Our unique educational programs will teach the public the proper care of pets to reduce the overpopulation problem and help humans co-exist with wildlife.

Description

We currently operate a pet food pantry in Hopewell Junction on Saturdays for Dutchess County residents who are struggling financially to feed their pets. Pet owners are welcome to come once a month to receive a week's supply of pet food.

We also operate a thrift shop. The public donates household items to us and we sell them in our shop. The items must be new or gently used. The proceeds go to building an educational and rehabilitation center for both pets and wildlife at Greenhaven Prison where we recently were awarded property.
