Mission Statement

The mission of the Foundation For Greater Opportunities In Learning is to provide opportunities and resources that allow all children and adolescents to become successful learners. The Foundation places special emphasis on the educational development of children and adolescents in at-risk circumstances.

Description

At the forefront of our activities is attention to developing mentor/tutor relationships and resuming the Literacy Program for foster children while at their court appearances at Edelman Children's Court.

[Public Relations - Charlotte Liebel, M.Ed.] South Pasadena, Calif. --- Kudos to the Community for Gifts and Toy Wrapping at Buster’s Ice Cream and Coffee Stoppe at Christmas 2009. Volunteers who participated in gift-giving for the Annual Breakfast With Santa Event live in the hearts of local children and adolescents in foster care long after presents are distributed. The event is sponsored by the Foundation for Greater Opportunities in Learning, South Pasadena. The morning following the Toy Wrapping Party, children and families celebrated with a Holiday Breakfast. Santa personally reached into his gift bag for one of your donations. It is likely that the child received only that one game or truck or toy. “Heartfelt appreciation is sent in greetings to everyone who joined us. We look forward to this event almost as much as the children,” said Foundation President Dr. Susanne Foulk.
