Mission Statement
Georgia CASA strengthens and supports court-sanctioned, affiliate CASA programs that empower community volunteers who advocate for abused or neglected children and contributes to advancements within the child welfare system.
Description
Through individualized attention, CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of children in Georgia who have been abused or neglected and placed in foster care. Bringing urgency to a child's needs, both in and out of a courtroom, CASA volunteers work to ensure children have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential with the support of permanent connections to family. As community partners in the child welfare system, CASA volunteers increase children's access to services, promote safety, and advocate for timeliness and permanency for children involved in juvenile court proceedings. CASA volunteers are independent advocates and provide individualized attention for children in a massive state system. Georgia CASA develops and supports CASA programs in the state. Statewide activities include CASA at the Capitol Day, a state conference and other events.
