Mission Statement

We envision a future where Michigan's rare, threatened and endangered species and imperiled natural communities thrive, and where they are valued by people of all walks of life who embrace and benefit from Michigan's natural heritage.

Established in 1952, the Michigan Nature Association is a non-profit conservation organization committed to the protection and maintenance of special natural ar eas throughout the state. Through stewardship, MNA works to protect the rare and endangered plants and animals that reside in these areas, and promote a program of natural history and conservation education. For 65 years, MNA has worked to acquire and protect more than 10,000 acres from the northern tip of the U.P. to the Indiana/Ohio border. I volunteered at the Michigan Nature Association writing for the organization's newsletter and guidebook as well as helping contact media outlets with events. I had a great time! Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful, and all of the other volunteers were great to spend time with. I would definitely volunteer here again!
