Our Mission: We remove barriers to health with relentless compassion so that no one faces illness and injustice alone. Our Vision: Health For All Looking to connect with a network of peers who share your passion for healthy food and community service? Do you enjoy chopping, cooking, and packaging meals? Every week our Chicken Soup Brigade Client Care Advocates, Nutritionists, Chefs and Cooks, Warehouse and Distribution staff and regular weekly Volunteers work together to make, package, bag and deliver medically tailored meals and groceries to clients. We serve homebound seniors and people living with serious health conditions across King, Snohomish, and Island County. Where you come in: You can help people living with serious illnesses, and have a GREAT time doing it! Every meal in our Kitchen is made from scratch using whole ingredients. Volunteers in our Chicken Soup Brigade Kitchen help prepare and package meals for our clients; slicing, dicing and peeling is the name of the game and a hugely important part of cooking nutritionally specific 'food as medicine’ for our clients. The Kitchen Helper role is an opportunity to work with a team of fantastic people who love food and nutrition and, to do something very important for our community. No cooking experience is necessary! Our chefs will assign tasks based on each volunteer's skill and comfort level.
