124+ Years of Leadership and Strength in Senior Services

A nonprofit and accredited organization, Chicago Methodist Senior Services (CMSS) offers the most extensive senior services network on Chicago's north side.

CMSS sets a high standard of care and is one of Chicago's oldest and strongest nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving older adults. Incorporated in 1898, the CMSS continuum now includes memory supportive assisted living, home care, adult day services, and low-income housing services for seniors.

We seek to support and enhance the quality of life for older adults by empowering them to live with dignity and respect. Our years of service to Chicagoland seniors are a testament to our care and commitment to innovation and quality.

This organization truly cares about friendships needed for the Senior Community. Senior Connections is dedicated to matching volunteers with a Senior who would just like someone to visit with them every week. Having volunteered visiting a 98 year old woman who lived in her own home, I have learned a lot about life, getting older and the difference we made in each other's lives. Our visits were the highlight of both of our weeks. An amazingly special bond with Mary was built that I would never have imagined when I signed up to be a volunteer. There are so many more people who need that companionship. Come make a difference!

I am a teacher/writing therapist and have been working with seniors as well. My background is literature/psychology. I have been a helpmate in this area for twenty years. I worked in Ridgeview Nursing Home and the Evanston Retirement Hotel as well as The Comprehensive Mental Health Center at St. Francis Hospital.
