Mission Statement

The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District is a comprehensive system of natural areas and preserves designed to enhance the quality of life of the citizens of Allen County by providing passive outdoor recreational and educational opportunities while conserving and protecting the natural resources of the area for future generations.

Description

The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District was formed in 1972 to preserve and enhance the remaining natural areas in Allen County. The Park District currently maintains 11 park areas throughout the county. It is only through volunteers that we are able to serve the public through our festivals, programs, land stewardship and special events.
