Mission Statement

Charles House provides daytime care for older adults with mild to moderate impairments as well as respite for their families. Participation in the Charles House program supports the functioning of participants, many with various levels of dementia, through life-enriching activities and social involvement. Family caregivers also find respite and support for the demands of providing care for aging loved ones at home. At Charles House we believe that everyone aims to: have some control over everyday events feel useful to those around us derive satisfaction from constructive activity be involved in the community have meaningful social relationships maximize all our abilities

At Charles House we emphasize that participants should be active according to their capabilities and needs.

We also emphasize involving families, especially during admission and goal planning. Families are encouraged to visit Charles House to learn about our program. Pansies arranged by a participant Please call for an appointment.

Our program content at Charles House promotes total well-being
of participants. This includes:

Care and Physical Activity
Two snacks and a balanced lunch each day
Exercises in the morning and afternoon
Supervision of prescription medications
Encouragement of good health and personal habits
Daily rest period and quiet time
