Description
AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, THE HUMAN SERVICES CAMPUS, INC. (HSC):
- Operates as the "front door" to the Campus via the Brian Garcia Welcome Center
- Is the lead agency for single adult "coordinated entry" in the Valley, which means conducting intakes and assessments for all guests.
- Connects individuals to a wide array of services guided by our HSC Navigator staff and provides matches to housing
- When possible, we conduct "diversions" from the Campus by helping connect guests with family or friends
- Provides additional hospitality resources including post office services and bag storage for Campus guests
- Maintains a safe and secure Campus environment
- Leads and fosters collaboration amongst the partner agencies to ensure our focus is ultimately about ending homelessness of our guests

INTERESTED & POTENTIAL LDRC VOLUNTEERS.....
As a former homeless client I can personally attest to the signifigance and underlying philosophies behind the ongoing program development influenced by the LDRC Director of Transformation and Coordinator of Volunteers, Ms. Dawn Shires as well as all the fine staff who work with and support her in her efforts.
For this reason, Lodestar & Ms. Shire's programs have received media acclaim from New Times and the AZ Republic; for more info, pls see the hyperlinks below:

ATTN ALL US MILITARY VETERANS! Take note the LDRC is part of the integrated Human Servics Campus which includes CASS (Central AZ Shelter Services), St Vincent DePaul, Andre House & also the MSVA, "Madison St. Veteran's Association". The MSVA is a self-supporting grass-roots org BUILT SOLELY BY & FOR other homeles vets, unique & 1st of its kind, in which we aid other homeless vets to self-sufficiency. We men & women who served in our country's Armed Forces wore the uniform with great pride & distinction; then as now we will take care of our own in need via this fine fellowship in whch we can all equally share. MSVA located at ANdre House next door to LDRC; at LDRC contact Terry (US Army, LDRC & MSVA Mbr) or Dawn (civilian LDRC coordinator) for more info. The MSVA salutes you for your service; now we are all called upon again to serve for our homeless uniformed bretheren. Thank you. (Dave E, PN2, A/SWS, USN)

The LDRC (J Berg, Dir) is notable nationwide in the battle against homelessness including personal growth opportunities spearheaded by Dawn Shires. For 30yrs Ms.Shires has dedicated her life towards the understanding of the human psyche & the individualistic realization of human potential, now "Transforming" the LDRC physically & from a client view mentally via rehab projects which center on developmental growth of the mind & spirit. Her devotion is untiring in this realm wich is evident by meeting her,for she is a unique individual in which YOU - as a volunteer - will appreciate. Her personal strength of will & exuberance knows no bounds;for she dosent just make lemonade out of lemons but fuel to power the sun itself thru her own energy. Dawn's unbridled enthusiasm, straightforward and freindly disposition breathes WHY NOT to those that ask WHY in myriad ways leading to realizing ones own potential. Vol here, meet Dawn, and YOU TOO can transform lives! Join her! Dont hesitate, call!
