Our mission is to encourage responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals. We strive to educate the public on pet overpopulation issues and the importance of spaying and neutering. Our goals are to maximize adoptions of animals, minimize animal suffering, and reduce the number of animals euthanized in the county.

Description

Contra Costa County Animal Services was created in 1979 and is dedicated to the health and welfare of animals and people throughout the county. We operate two state-of-the-art animal shelters and provide adoption services, pet licensing, public education classes, low cost spay/neuter and vaccination services, and volunteer opportunities.We investigate animal cruelty, neglect, and dangerous animal cases - and are committed to the safety and welfare of the citizens and animals ofContra Costa County.
