Mission Statement

To increase educational opportunities for children in rural India - giving them the same opportunities as city children. RISE Foundation aims to bridge the knowledge gap between rural and urban children, providing rural children the same access to quality education.

Description

Many rural families cannot afford a quality education, resulting in more economic and educational disparities between the rich and poor. RISE Foundation bridges the knowledge gap between rural and urban children, providing rural children the same access to quality education.
In 2004, RISE school doors opened with four promising students. Today, over 300 children are enrolled at RISE School from kindergarten to 10th Grade

RISE elementary school uses a combination of montessori and traditional education. The pre school curriculum is based upon montessori methods - an educational approach characterized by an emphasis on independence with respect to a child’s natural physiological development and technical advancements. Fosters excellent communication, problem solving, and spiritual skills. There are several other programs, many which foster creativity and independence. Spiritual and moral education, music and dance classes, yoga classes and team-building are some of the few. The school has a lot to offer and really opens the doors for these children who couldn't afford a good education otherwise. Students are trained in Yoga, Karate, Indian classical dance, athletics, life skills, gender equality and agriculture. Technology and innovative teaching practices (online live tutoring, use of tablets) are used to make learning fun.
