We are in the process of planning a renewed Arts and Music Festival. We are dusting off the 16 year tradition paused in 2019.... The event is traditionally scheduled on an early September Saturday, from 9 AM - 10:30 PM. We are looking for individuals to help lead the planning and fundraising efforts for the event. Apply here at volunteer match or on our website if you are interested in joining some 6 others on the planning team. While a model for the event exists, it is only a model. The planning team has grand leeway in creating a festival that reflects today and the future. While it is a program of the Foundation, the planning team operates as a separate volunteer team to shape the event(s). Community Foundations (CF) provide a broad spectrum of community programs and services and address local needs and opportunities via grant making, community convening and engagement. CF’s are tax exempt, non-profit, publicly supported philanthropic organization with the long term goal of building permanent, named funds for the broad-based public benefit of the residents in a given area. A CF has 3 specific roles in the community. 1. Create and raise funds for permanent endowments for community investment. 2. provide broad flexible grant making for today and the future 3. serve as a community leader. Golden Valley Community Foundation (GVCF) is positioned as the leading force for expanding private philanthropy in our area. The Board of Directors (Board) is the Foundation's chief policy-making body. As such, the Board bears ultimate responsibility for the legal, financial, administrative, grant making, community service and fundraising activities of the Foundation. The Board consists of up to 15 volunteer members, all of whom serve as full voting members. Members are chosen by the Board. The term is 2 years, and Board members can be re-elected to serve a maximum of four additional two-year terms. The Foundation, established in 2011 has had significant success supporting the community. We are a hands-on all-volunteer organization actively engaged in our programming. As we grow, our interaction in Golden Valley, with neighboring communities and with partners requires us to add to our team's expertise. We need you to live "locally", so Twin Cities MN area residency is required. You can certainly work from home.... Required: Please provide us your LinkedIn profile link. We are looking for a person who can help us with their creative firepower to bring their ideas and skills to bear and propel our organization to the next level! We use Little Green Light Donor Database software to manage our fundraising campaigns, specifically data entry and acknowledgments. This person will be responsible for creating reports to seed our communication campaigns (Land mailings and email). This also means printing envelopes and letters as well as sending emails. We utilize Constant Contact for our emailing/contact. The person we want is a knowledgeable self motivated volunteer who can enter and manage data as well as manage our donor acknowledgments and outreach! Experience with CRM is necessary. Constant Contact experience is a plus. Experience with Little Green Light is a PLUS. Volunteer must be able to interact with Finance Director, Development Team Director and the Board Chair/Exec Director on a regular basis, so that is why Twin City MN residency is important at this time. We require residence in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St.Paul metro area, including the suburbs and outer ring of the metro. While this is posted as volunteer, our intention is to transition this to a part time paid contract position. Golden Valley Community Foundation (GVCF) was established in 2011. It is an all volunteer board. For 2025, the Foundation is seeking an experienced Non Profit leader who is able to lead te organization through our 2nd decade of service to this west side. We are seeking and individual who is well respected as a community leader in nonprofit management. The successful candidate should excel at building strong relationships, both internally and externally, and be able to provide leadership in strategic vision, leadership development, fundraising, program development, and general management for a dynamic, growing not-for-profit Community Foundation. The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for consistent achievement of GVCFs mission and financial objectives. The ED provides leadership to the Board in the areas of planning, budgeting and program development. The ED is the organization’s chief fundraiser and spokesperson and is responsible for cultivating partnerships with business, local nonprofits, community leaders and individual donors. The ED leads and directs staff and contractors and provides support and assistance to volunteers, including the Board of Directors and committees. The ideal candidate will build on GVCF’s past successes and expand its reach and influence. The position requires an entrepreneurial and results-oriented approach. This person must be able to keep a big picture perspective while ensuring the attention to detail required is fully addressed. In addition, this candidate will bring energy, passion, intellectual curiosity, creativity, flexibility, and exceptional communication skills to their work. Currently, this is an unpaid position and provides no health coverage benefits. An ideal candidate lives on this west side and is passionate about community engagement and leading an organization that is highly impactful in our geographic area.
