We believe in preserving our environment while inspiring the human spirit through leadership in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine life, environmental education, research, and conservation.

Description

We are a working animal hospital that is open to the public. Our permanent residents are animals that could no longer survive on their own in the wild. They include Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins, river otters and a number of sea turtles. Clearwater Marine Aquarium is involved with a number of marine science research initiatives, environmental conservation and public education. Programs are available for virtually every age group. CMA provides a home for many animals rescued and rehabilitated by our stranding response team, which is one of the nation's most successful. Although many of these injured or sick animals are subsequently released, some have become permanent CMA residents due to the extent of their injuries or permanent disabilities. I have had such a great time with this program! There are so many opportunities. CMA has a need and a perfect fit for anyone willing to give a few hours a week to help these wonderful animals!

According to CharityNavigator.org, Clearwater Marine Aquarium exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause. It was rated four stars out of four and it's efficiency is ranked with three out of four stars. CMA's mission is to restore and preserve our marine environment.
