Mission Statement
Our Mission To build No Kill communities - starting with a No Kill Chicago - that respect and value the life of every cat and dog. To end the overpopulation of homeless animals through solutions, practices and education. To transform animal welfare by setting higher standards in the way animals are treated and developing a sustainable, solutions-based model.
Description
PAWS Chicago is the city's largest No Kill humane organization, focused on solutions to end the killing of homeless pets. Since our founding in 1997, homeless dogs and cats killed annually in the City of Chicago has dropped more than 50 percent. PAWS Chicago is working to build a No Kill Chicago -- a city where pets are no longer destroyed just because they are homeless
Volunteers are the life force of PAWS Chicago. They touch every aspect of our operations and provide the highest-quality care for our pets. This work enables us to magnify our impact and save more lives. Last year, our volunteers donated enough hours to equal the work of 50 full-time employees.
By joining PAWS Chicago’s team of dedicated volunteers, you’ll build strong relationships with other like-minded volunteers, the animal-loving community, and of course, the animals themselves. Working together, we will build a No Kill community where all healthy and treatable pets are saved.
