Mission Statement

CASA Positive Action. Powerful Results. The mission of the Arizona Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is to promote and support community-based volunteers who provide quality advocacy for abused and neglected children who are involved in the juvenile courts. The Arizona CASA Program is operated locally in all 15 counties by Arizona's Juvenile Courts and is administered statewide by the Arizona Supreme Court. Apache County CASA Program is a proud affiliate of the Arizona CASA Program and National CASA.

Description

CASA of Apache County recruits, screens, trains, and supervises community volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers. CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to advocate in court for the safe, permanent future of abused, neglected, and abandoned children.

  • What does having a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) mean to an abused child?Imagine what it would be like to lose your parents, not because of something you did, but because they can't - or won't - take care of you. Now, into your life come dozens of strangers: police, foster parents, social workers, judges, lawyers, and more. Having a CASA means having a trained and committed adult advocate for your best interests. Your CASA will make sure you don't get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in an inappropriate group or foster home. Your CASA will be there for you until your case is closed.

It is a goal of the Apache County CASA Program to provide a CASA to every abused and neglected child who needs one. Join our family of volunteers, everyday people like you, who are committed to improving children's lives. Be a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
