*ATTENTION CAT LOVERS!* We are looking for volunteer(s) to help with deep cleaning our cat house once a week. Day/time can be flexible! It takes about 2 hours total and you will get to visit with our felines :) Duties include: Wipe down walls, fan, cubbys on floor and walls, tree stands, bench, change out and wash out litter boxes, wash food and water bowls, sweep & mop (moving things around), cleaning windows, sweep front porch, wipe down kuranda bed on porch, change out all laundry.

Here is an example of an updated profile with lots of fun added: Nicklaus is a special name for a special dog. His name means "Victor of the People" and we couldn’t think of a better dog to name as our champion. Nicklaus has proved that he is a champion of overcoming challenges and would like nothing more than to exuberantly love a forever family... that family can include people, dogs, and even cats. Nicklaus is one of those doggos who loves chill vibes. His favorite hobbies include relaxing with a friend, exploring a peaceful outdoor space, and sniffing all the good smells in the world. Plus, he LOVES to be petted. Like seriously, this dog turns into a cuddle puddle when he’s given love and attention. His foster mom raves, "Nicklaus has NO problem being loved on and even giving kisses! He has not barked once since he’s been here." He gets 5 stars on affection! Nicklaus is an unconditional love-giver to those in his circle. For those new to his circle, we recommend patience and understanding as he gets to know them. He uses his outside voice when he meets new folks, but once he knows you, he’s up exploring, going for a stroll, and yes, tons of lovin’. We would be over the moon for our Love Champion to find a forever home with a family committed to providing him a serene and understanding environment where he can thrive and receive all the love that he’ll give them. Nicklaus is truly our victor of devotion!

Animal Videographer

Many people searching to adopt a rescue animal does so via the internet. If we can post cute and funny videos and compelling stories we increase an animal's chances of adoption. We always need volunteers to take videos (and photos) of our rescues to post on Petfinder, our website and in various media releases. For simplicity we prefer that you bring your own camera and have a way to get the media to us via upload, email, etc. This volunteer activity can be accomplished on your schedule. Once we orient you at our shelter then you can set your own schedule, we always need assistance! The primary requirement of this activity is patience and being comfortable handling animals. You need to be able to put a leash on a dog and safely take them back and forth to our "photo pen" and/or bring a friend to help you. If you are good taking and editing videos, this would be a great way to assist us in finding homes for our rescues.

This organization does what they can to get homes for the animals they've rescued. While I don't live in the area, I'd definitely recommend it.

Recently re-designed their logo. Fayette County Animal Rescue is filled with hard-working, caring, and polite people. I highly recommend volunteering for them. :)
