Woodside High School's Green Academy is a small learning environment. Students in the Green Academy will be inspired both in and outside the traditional classroom to become stewards of their environment, leaders in their communities, and innovators in the field of green technology. Over the course of 3 years, they study plant and soil science, California water, and sustainable design. The mentor program is offered during a student's junior year. As a mentor, you will share information about your career and the path you took to get where you are today. Discussing your education, previous jobs and promotions, and what your role looks like on a day-to-day basis is the cornerstone of our program. We have a set curriculum that is focused on career exploration and developing the students' business communication goals. Key deliverables include an elevator pitch, SMART goals, resumes, mock interviews, and a job shadow. Mentors often share that this is an easy time commitment, but we appreciate the big impact it has on students!
