Mission Statement

Rebuilding Alliance is dedicated to advancing equal rights for the Palestinian people through education, advocacy, and support that assures Palestinian families the right to a home, schooling, economic security, safety, and a promising future.

Description

We learned early-on that to build in war-torn communities one must partner locally with non-governmental organizations that hold the trust of the local community and maintain the highest standards of fiscal and personal integrity.

Everyone who works at Rebuilding Alliance is committed to building peace and justice through programs that make a tangible difference and together, we do our best to make RA a great place to work. Many who have joined RA as interns or in entry-level jobs have gone on to their dream-job or pursued advanced degrees.

One of our past interns wrote the following:

"I always talk about interning with Rebuilding Alliance as one of my most important, challenging and formative work experiences, especially when I'm in interviews. You asked and expected big things of me right away, and I'm so grateful for that - coordinating a teleconference series, making phone calls to important peacekeepers, offering insights in team meetings, updating our internet presence. These are skills that I value so highly, and that I'm sure will be so important as I enter this industry that is entirely new to me. I would also like to stay in touch with you and Rebuilding Alliance and help in any way I can in the coming years, whether through donations or volunteering my time when I'm back in the Bay Area."

My experience at the Rebuilding Alliance was a great one! I was a Project Management Intern for summer 2009. I learned so much from this position and was granted opportunities that I did not even imagine were possible. The unique project I was fortunate to help facilitate was towards the construction of a birthing center in Palestine. I worked with other non-profits in the area and spoke with international constituents to help conceptualize plans with the Rebuilding Alliance team. I gained communication and organization skills through correspondence and grant writing with individuals in many different sectors. In addition, The Rebuilding Alliance staff team was absolutely wonderful to work with. The workplace culture is great to be a part of, I felt like I was making a difference by helping with important peacebuilding projects. I would highly recommend getting involved with the Rebuilding Alliance. It was truly one of the most enriching professional experiences I've ever had!

Rebuilding Alliance is a great place made of people who want to help make a difference in an under served community. Also, it is a great place to be involved in a lot of aspects about the organization and its' work as well as learn different things.

I've been volunteer for the Rebuilding Alliance for almost a year and will continue to be. Working for the organization gives me a perfect opportunity to meet great people, learn from non-profit and for-profit professionals and attend interesting events like Green Festival or Craigslist Fundation Boot Camp. But what I like best about Rebuilding Alliance that it is a very friendly, welcoming, inspirational and creative environment to develop ones skill set.

Two of the best qualities interning with the Rebuilding Alliance are the pleasure of working with a group of people who are models of kindness, professionalism, and talent; and the opportunity of learning from the experience and insight that they have in regards to nonprofit development and organization management.
