Mission Statement

The Norfolk Chapter is one of more than 250 local arms of the National voluntary nonprofit 501(c)(3) membership organization. Established in 1935, this chapter was united and formed on Thursday, June 23, 2005 in support of the National NCNW, Inc. concepts. It is a chapter where many local issues of concern are openly discussed, and where committees are formed to help achieve common goals. Consistent with the national organization's motto to "Leave No One Behind" we work diligently together to improve the quality of life for African American women and their families.

Description

The five focus areas for the Norfolk, Virginia Chapter are: YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, EMPOWERMENT, SISTERHOOD, UNITY and SPIRITUALITY. The Norfolk Chapter work hard to promote advocacy and action among women in the areas of: education, employment, economics, culture, health, welfare and all quality of life issues for the betterment of the community and social change.
