Flexible Schedule | Cincinnati, OH 45236

Direct Patient volunteers will provide companionship, socialization, emotional support to our patients and families through their conversation, card playing, book reading, hand holding, maybe light housekeeping and just a warm presence! You may visit one or multiple patients in facilities or at home. You tell us how often & when. This is a very flexible volunteer opportunity, and the possibilities are endless! Plus, we try to match you up with patients in your area. So, hopefully, you will serve in the community that you live in.

Pet Therapy is one of the many ways we seek to enhance the quality of patients lives who are experiencing a life limiting illness. With the help of volunteers like you, our patients get a chance to visit with your licensed therapy pet when they are unable to have a pet of their own. It is a beautiful thing, to witness the joy that touching an animals fur and beholding the love in their eyes can bring to a patient! Pet Therapy volunteers make friendly visits on their own schedules to provide much needed companionship from a furry friend. Volunteer with Queen City Hospice in the Anderson and east side area. Primarily volunteers provide companionship to the elderly who reside in Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facilities. Volunteers may also share their talents by providing art or music therapy, or if they have a certified therapy dog, they can provide pet therapy. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community! Volunteers will need to meet requirements of a background check, drug screen, TB test, and orientation. All of these services are provided by Queen City Hospice, and are at no cost to the volunteer.

Can you share your gift of presence, read, play a board game, chat, play music, offer companionship? or Do you have a licensed Pet Therapy dog? Then we can show you how to enhance the quality of life for patients who are experiencing a life limiting illness. With the help of volunteers like you, our patients get a chance for enjoyment and socialization! Companionship and Pet Therapy volunteers make friendly visits on their own schedules. Orientation, training, background check, TB Test and drug screen are required and provided! We can't wait to meet you!
