Kaiser honors the basic principle of Hospice care helping terminally ill patients balance the spirit of living, giving them as much comfort and peace as possible no matter how long or short their remaining time is. We provide physical, emotional, and spiritual comforts to increase the quality of life in this season with family and friends. Here are some ways you can help: Patient Care: Provide companionship to patients at home or in a skilled nursing facility through social, emotional, presence, and spiritual support; Engaging in activities through conversation, listening, reading, singing, playing games, or the creative arts; Providing caregiver relief for naps, errands, appointments or social time. Office Support: Prepare bereavement mailings; provide telephone support, filing, typing and other office duties. Activities: Participation in our Memorial Ceremonies and Veterans Day tribute with event planning, administration, food service, and decorating. Crafts: Knitting or crocheting comfort lap blankets; sewing memory bears or pillows for bereaved families; decorate medication boxes; creating gift cards and more.
