Henry Ford Hospice created the SandCastles Grief Support Program to provide grieving children and families the opportunity to come together for nurturing and strength as they learn to cope with the loss of a loved one. There are many important ways to volunteer for SandCastles. The following is a list of areas where we need your help. We also have many opportunities during the year that may require the need for help that does not fall into one of these categories. People are very unique, and everyone has special talents and abilities. The individual strengths of our volunteers bring a distinct quality to our program, as well as celebrating the individuals themselves. Please share your ideas and skills with us- it may bring support in an exceptional way to a child who is traveling on their grief journey. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer feel free to fill out our application below and send it in to us. Please note that you will also need to call and speak with a program coordinator prior to coming to an orientation or training. Program coordinators can be reached at 313-771-7005.
