Have you or someone you know ever been diagnosed with cancer? I've been there on the front lines of the cancer battle, twice. It was rare and terminal, yet here I am almost 16 years later, in full remission and helping others in the fight. I know that God saved my life for a reason, and when I was in the trenches, I was helping fellow warriors, before I had started UCAAN (United Cancer Advocacy Action Network). I'm Rachel Shur, Author, Inspirational Speaker and Survivor and I need your help and expertise!!I work hard connecting cancer patients with their immediate needs, resources and vital information. I've been doing this since 2007 and will continue as long as I'm here. Because fighting for others is my main focus, I don't always have the time to do all the social media, I try, but would love to find people who are passionate about helping those with cancer that would like to help us grow. Especially during the holidays, this year in Nevada. A few things to know: We have a wonderful New Location this year and we are thrilled about it! We are offering our full service gift wrapping service as a fundraiser for the cause. Our original mall location, fell through. This is in Nevada/Las Vegas. We would love a volunteer who's in the area, especially to take photos and to help promote here. We have 6 Holiday trees with lights and ornaments that we want to donate to 6 local families in the throws of cancer. That can't otherwise afford it. We always deck out our location, which makes it a great spot for photos, we need help to promote our spot and the opportunity for photos. As well as promote the location for their donated space. We would love to promote to business owners who may want to donate gift cards for the chosen 6 families for the holidays and we will in turn gift the cards and wrap their gifts for free. :-) If you'd like to help our national cause and get a great write up from us, please reach out. Thank you. This is virtual and in person, specifically prefer people who are in or around the Las Vegas/Henderson areas of Las Vegas. Someone who can come to the space, do some live videos and promote our location. Thank you A local Ventura County contact would be great as well.

Every year, our organization opens a Full Service Gift Wrapping store in a Vegas Mall. However, this year, we were presented with an even better opportunity. We have a pop-up store in the Water Street Disctrict, which gives us the opportunity to work with another group that will have 2 weekends of pop-up shopping for the community. Our store is definitely a pop-up winter wonderland. We are known to create a fun themed holiday spot, one where people have brought their dogs to take photos in front of over the years. We are requesting experienced wrappers, but we always welcome volunteers eager to learn. Since we are already open, we can train volunteers when they come in. In past years we had training days, prior to opening. We do have a special way that we wrap, so even if you know how to wrap, we suggest paying attention to our training to learm some of our tips and tricks to wrapping. :-) Kids under 16 must be accopanied by an adult. We do allow all ages to help, but do request that you keep your phones in your bags, while volunteering. We do sign off on service hours, so clubs are welcome and encouraged. Ifyou come for a training day, we do not sign off on hours, but we will sign off on any hours you do after training. We work as a team and help one another. No Hate speech is allowed. We welcome people who want to dress up for the holidays as well! We have an AMAZING NEW LOCATION in the Water Street DIsctrict. Generally we have 4 hour shifts. And if you need community service hours, we request that you NOT cram all your hours in one day, please space your time out, so we have your help longer. We do need help setting up and decorating our store, would you like to add tour creative spirit to our spot? This is where creatives come into play, please help us create a winter wonderland on a low budget for our spot. We will also need to clean up and pack our store 12/24 (after our shift) and move out on 12/25 (we know these are difficult days to request help, but if you're available we'd love your help!) to get it back into storage. We would love some Social media gurus who can help spread the word about our cause, fundraiser and pop-up store. Thank you for your interest. "While all of the other organizations are raising money for research, who is helping the patients? The reality is that while research has progressed and we have discovered treatments to prolong a cancer patients life, survivors are living longer lives with a worsened quality of life. There are more side effects that are making a cancer patients’ quality of life even more difficult. These side effects include but are not limited to brain damage, memory problems, infertility, degenerative disc disease, deterioration of teeth & jaw bones, congestive heart failure, and post traumatic stress disorder! "
