I recommend Calvary Women's Services to my friends and colleagues because of Calvary's commitment to empowering women experiencing homelessness in the DC region. That commitment is seen in the caseworker to client ratio, which Calvary ensures is at an appropriate level so these women get the help they deserve. That commitment is seen in the LEAP classes that help impart important life skills that help them transition to independence, but more importantly stay independent. That commitment is seen in Step Up DC, which helps the women both find employment and to thrive in the workplace. Calvary doesn't simply provide a safe place to sleep, Calvary creates a safe place to help women experiencing homelessness become happy and independent members of the community.
