About the Role Are you a creative storyteller who lives and breathes social media? A Free Bird is looking for a Social Media Specialist Volunteer to join our Marketing team. In this role, you'll help shape our online voice, grow our digital presence, and amplify the powerful stories of the young artists we serve. This is a hands-on opportunity to build real-world skills in social media strategy, campaign execution, content creation, and analytics-while making a meaningful impact. What You’ll Do Develop Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team to craft and implement platform-specific social media strategies aligned with our brand goals. Create Content: Design engaging, platform-tailored posts across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and Threads. Think visuals, reels, stories, and captions that inspire action. Manage Community: Monitor messages, tags, and comments. Respond to our audience in a timely and professional tone, building trust and community along the way. Run Campaigns: Plan and execute digital campaigns (including cause awareness days, fundraisers, contests, and artist showcases). Track performance and optimize results. Report & Analyze: Use tools like Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, or Later to pull weekly insights and make data-driven recommendations. Stay Trend-Forward: Keep up with platform updates, algorithm changes, content trends, and best practices-then bring fresh ideas to the table. Support Paid Ads: Assist in creating content and copy for paid social media campaigns, and track ROI alongside the digital team. Boost Brand Advocacy: Identify brand ambassadors and promote user-generated content to highlight our mission and impact. What We’re Looking For You're currently pursuing or have a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field. You have experience managing or creating content for social media platforms-either personally, professionally, or through past internships. You’re fluent in current digital trends and platform culture, and have a sharp eye for what performs well. Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills. You're organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage your time across multiple tasks. Comfortable working remotely and independently, with reliable access to a computer and internet. Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, Hootsuite, Later, or other content tools is a plus. Bonus: Experience with social ads or nonprofit marketing. Internship Details This is a remote, part-time internship requiring 5-10 hours per week for at least 3 months. Must be available for 2 check-ins per week via phone or video call. Artistic expression has been proven to play an instrumental role in the healing process. We support children affected by cancer in their exploration of a range of self expression such as art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and other creative mediums. We are seeking candidates for a PAID Piano Tutor position to conduct one-on-one piano lessons with children at A Free Bird. An ideal candidate is a professional piano teacher, or a student or non-student with formal piano training, who is able to spend their time working with children and being patient with them. While not required, the individual should be aware of how to accommodate sick children and adjust scheduling accordingly. We welcome virtual applicants and applicants in Redlands, California and neighboring areas, as this position can be performed virtually or in-person. The minimum tenure for this position is three months, with the option to extend. *For Student Applicants: Internship credit will be offered if required by an academic program. Responsibilities Provide piano tutoring sessions for children, ages 4-18. Take pictures of the class session and send it to the organization as proof of the session taking place. Via Google form, fill out a weekly evaluation (indicating progress and goals) after each session. Communicate with the guardian and child, what the child will be learning, and what steps will be taken to get the child to see results and continue their interest in AFB. Qualifications At least 3-4 years of formal piano training (school, structured lessons, or equivalent experience) Past experience of interacting and working with children, preferred but not required Exhibits creative ideas and a welcoming personality Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills Pay Range: $60-$80/hr (Finalized rate will be determined based on experience) Additional Information In person in Redlands, CA or neighboring area is preferred, but not required. Job Description: As a Communications Manager, plays a vital role in amplifying A Free Bird’s mission and impact. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, crafting and executing comprehensive communication strategies across various channels to engage stakeholders, drive awareness, and support fundraising efforts. Leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated communication strategies across multiple channels. - Communications Manager will report to the Director of Communications. Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies encompassing social media, media relations, email campaigns, and other communication channels. Create and refine communication materials to convey consistent key messages aligned with branding and digital strategies. Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating complex concepts in clear, accessible language. Mentor and develop junior team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional growth. Maintain rigorous quality control over all communication outputs and provide regular progress reports and client briefings. Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms. Passion for our mission and dedication to making a difference in the lives of children affected by cancer. Proficiency in Google Analytics and other measurement tools to assess campaign effectiveness. Experience managing websites and leveraging social and digital media for strategic communication. JOB SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources Coordinator Volunteer responsibilities and partner with leadership on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources policies, programs, and practices. The Human Resources Coordinator will maintain employee records and comply with labor laws and regulations. Responsibilities Conduct HR processes (i.e., employment, recruitment, hiring, policy administration, comp & benefits, performance management, training, retention, etc.) in compliance with Business Area and policies. Oversee and conduct best-practice onboarding practices to drive superior performance, policy compliance, and employee satisfaction. Advise leaders on strategic, operational, and business goals, and incorporate relevant HR tools to facilitate solutions.
