Campus Greeter volunteers greet all guests who enter our building on 514 Prospect in Redondo Beach while also providing general support and customer service duties for the full BCHD campus (includes buildings 510, 514 and 520). Seeking volunteers available for the following weekly shifts: Monday - Friday: 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm, 5pm-7pm Saturday: 9:30am-12pm, 12pm-2pm *High school applicants need a minimum once weekly commitment for a semester or the summer. Duties Greet all guests and tenants entering the building Provide information and referral to public Walk visitors to/from medical appointments and allcove teen wellness center upon request. Wheelchairs may be used Maintain a clean and orderly area Qualifications Friendly and helpful attitude Willing to self-initiate engaging with others Physical ability to push wheelchairs and walk throughout campus Interest in providing or learning how to provide customer service to the public Must be comfortable working with ill and aging populations

The front desk assistant supports clerical and administrative needs at BCHD. We are seeking individuals available to work weekly shifts from 9am-1pm or 1pm - 5pm. Formed in 1955, Beach Cities Health District is a public agency that provides health care services to the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. LiveWell Kids Program is an obesity prevention program in the eight RBUSD, three Hermosa Beach and one Manhattan Beach elementary schools that combines nutrition education, garden education, physical activity and parent education. Garden Angels meet at the various locations on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings between 9am - 12 noon for Redondo and Hermosa Schools and one Wednesday a month between 1 - 4pm in Manhattan Beach. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of two shifts per month. Duties: Maintain gardens at assigned schools in the following ways: Watering, weeding and transplanting garden beds as needed Managing the compost bin Managing garden waste Prepping lesson materials Tool maintenance Other duties as needed Minimum one-year commitment Training will be provided by our professional staff and lead volunteers. Beach Cities Health District is a public agency formed in 1955 by the voters of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach to provide health care services in the community. Brain Buddy volunteers will engage older and/ or disabled adults with memory loss in structured activities to provide socialization and engagement. Volunteers are recruited, trained, and then matched with appropriate participants on the basis of need and compatibility. Duties: Will be matched with a client and conduct weekly one-hour visits in the client’s home to assist in structured activities, such as art, music, or games. Create an individualized activity plan based on the client’s abilities and interests. Attend quarterly volunteer support meetings to share any issues, concerns, etc. the client is facing. Qualifications Needed: Must be 18 or older. Empathetic and understanding of the needs of older adults and adults with disabilities experiencing memory loss or dementia. Complete the training program. Ability to attend quarterly volunteer support meetings. Communicate any information regarding the client with their Care Manager. Maintain client confidentiality. 1-year commitment with the option to continue.
