Description
John Ball Zoo has been accredited by Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) since 1983. Our accreditation is your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things. Through AZA we participate in 49 Species Survival Plans & 39 taxon advisory groups. We currently have over 220 species and 2,400 individual animals we care for daily.
John Ball Zoo is the 4th most attended cultural facility in Michigan, with a economic impact in our communities of $40 million. Annually the Zoo has over 600,000 visitors, and reaches over 800,000 individuals with wildlife and conservation messages. We are part of the nationally recognized program "Museums For All" to provide reduced price admission for qualified families across the state of Michigan.
