Would you recommend Los Angeles Rabbit Foundation?
not a lot of work required and great people.
Not only did I get to play with cute bunnies, I learned a lot about them, so I’m now a bunny expert at home with my 2 bunnies!
LA Rabbit Foundation is the only rabbit education and rescue group I have found where 100% of my time and money is spent on the bunnies (no paid help). The people (all volunteers) and bunnies really appreciate the help and attention. One of the great pleasures in life is having these gentle little bunnies snuggling up to you for petting. Also, all of the volunteers were very nice. Like that I can help in the Santa Monica area.
This was one of the only organizations I found that were open to all ages. There's always little kids there petting bunnies. Originally coming for community service hours for college applications, the volunteers there were so accepting and lovely that I continued to go even after I finished the necessary hours. The venue is always organized with plenty of other volunteers that are willing to help with anything needed.
I was introduced to this organization when I wanted to adopt a pair of rabbits. The management team is very knowledgeable about rabbits, their care and their health. They appreciate their volunteers' time and accept whatever time and resources the volunteers can provide. There is no attitude of "if you can't provide X amount of time per month or bring in $X in donations, we don't want you," which is something I have encountered with other nonprofit organizations. Plus they have cute, furry, very personable critters who need us. What more could a volunteer want?
The people are organized, considerate and especially grateful. They take the time to treat you as more than just free labor and you come away learning something new about bunnies. You also leave feeling as if you've contributed something to the rabbits' welfare no matter what they have you doing.
