Volunteer Data Collection and Entry Specialist

Family Service League is seeking a dedicated, organized, and detail-oriented Data Collection and Entry Volunteer Specialist to help us transfer large volumes of confidential information into our new database and keep our records current when we collect new data. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, and Quickbooks. The position requires reviewing the data for errors before inputting them into our new system. This is an unpaid, volunteer position, perfect for anyone looking to volunteer their time with a local non-profit organization. Duties and Responsibilities Transfer confidential data from various sources (Excel, Quickbooks, Client Files) into the our databases Update databases or records with new information as it becomes available Correct and modify inaccurate files and records Comply with security backups and regular checks to ensure data is saved and stored properly Organize paper formats, paper backups, and material source files as needed Provide data from the databases for grant reporting Conduct discretion for confidential data Complete additional assigned tasks as required. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, preferably college student Previous experience in data entry or equivalent experience in a related field a plus Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Eager to learn new skills and databases Able to quickly and accurately type and enter data; knowledge of touch typing system preferred Attention to detail Excellent communication and organizational skills Knowledge of grammar and punctuation Ability to work to time constraints Computer literacy and familiarity with various computer programs to include MS Office (MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint) Ability to work within tight time constraints Basic research and data collection skills (ability to manage multiple spreadsheets and consolidating information) 10-key skills preferred Proficient typing and transcription Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

Community Outreach and Education Volunteers

Family Service League is seeking dedicated, organized, and detail-oriented Community Outreach and Education Volunteers to assist us with our Prevention Education and Community Outreach programming. This programming consists of providing educational trainings and workshops to local schools, organizations, colleges and universities, and more about topics such as sexual violence, consent, healthy relationships and boundaries, media literacy, and more. The ideal volunteer will have experience providing educational presentations to large groups, be well-versed in public speaking, willing to learn and be trained in new material and topics, and be passionate about sexual violence prevention. This work also includes tabling at various community outreach events to promote Family Service League/SAVE of Essex County's mission, programs, and services; this typically includes distributing our various materials and discussing our services with participants. This is an unpaid, volunteer position, perfect for anyone looking to volunteer their time with a local non-profit organization.

Volunteer Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate Training

Family Service League/ SAVE of Essex County is looking for volunteers who would like to be Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates. SAVE of Essex County is the county's designated rape crisis center where we run a 24/7 hotline to support survivors of sexual violence, have advocates around the clock to accompany survivors to hospitals for forensic evidence examinations, police stations for reporting procedures, and court houses during trials. In order to become an advocate, you must complete a 40 hour state-mandated training that we will offer beginning on February 6th. The training is free for all those interested. Participants must live within the county and be available during the times of the training. SAVE of Essex County operates a 24-hour sexual violence hotline, dispatching Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates around the clock to support and accompany victims and survivors through medical and legal procedures on site in hospitals, police stations, and courts, and provide crisis counseling as well as referrals to longer-term post-trauma counseling and other important resources.

A lot. I feel like I can do this. This is everything to me. Like this is all I ever want and wanted to do . I know God has told this in me and I want to do this . It's something I really want to do .
