Mission Statement

Literacy Volunteers of East Bay (LV-East Bay) believes that the ability to read is critical to personal growth, to individual freedom and to the maintenance of a democratic society. Our well-trained and supportive volunteers are committee to assisting adults in East Providence, Barrington, Warren and Bristol who want to improve their understanding of the English language, their literacy skills, their occupational and life-coping skills, and their access to library and other information services. Our tutors work one-to-one with learners, and our services are confidential and provided free of charge.
