Mission Statement
Northwest Harvest is Washington's own statewide hunger relief agency. The mission of Northwest Harvest is leading the fight for hungry people statewide to have access to nutritious food while respecting their dignity and promoting good health. Our vision is ending hunger in Washington.
Description
Northwest Harvest collects and distributes food to more than 375 independent food banks, hot meal programs, and high need schools across Washington State without proof of need. We provide over 2 million meals every month to individuals and families in need. We also run one food bank of our own, the Cherry Street Food Bank in Seattle.
Northwest Harvest is unable to provide court-related community service.

I highly enjoy volunteering for NW Harvest. I volunteer from Jan through Oct. I am unable to volunteer in Nov and Dec due to the high volume of volunteers during that time frame. I wish they had a digital sign up rather than email the coordinator and they'll put you on the schedule. It would be nice to sign up for multiple shifts all at once.

Northwest Harvest is great! There are some issues with how the bacon eggs & kegs event were run (i.e. no supervision), but I think that's more on the other organization that they work with to put the event together. We like the autonomy, but we need someone accessible in the nearby areas.

I have friends who are looking to volunteer and are looking where they want to volunteer.

I Love volunteering at Cherrry St Food bank - charming folks, variety of experience, flexible timings. Have been doing it for 1 yr+.

This has been a welcoming and productive place to volunteer. It is filled with love and care for those who are food insecure. I have felt fulfilled every time I've been there.

Jennifer, the Volunteer Program Manager, is awesome! She was incredibly helpful and responsive. The King 5 Home Team Harvest event was a lot of fun and supported a great cause.

I've been volunteering with this organization for two years now and I can't wait until we hold the next fight for hunger at the tacoma mall. I've told many friends of this organization and most are thrilled to help out this year.

I've been volunteering with NW Harvest for two years now. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy the work and appreciate how they track and announce the stats to show that volunteers are truly making a difference. It's good for students who need volunteer hours also.

I volunteered a couple times in the Cherry Street Food Bank and I had a wonderful time there. The staffs were all very friendly and I was able to make new friends with the other volunteers.
