Horizon is a home care and hospice provider built on a foundation of care that celebrates the human spirit and the desire for security, comfort, and compassion. We are a professional team of 550+ employees and 150+ volunteers who make a loving difference in the lives of more than 2,500 patients and families throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. The idea of 'home' is central to Horizon. Home means different things to different people, but one thing it should always be is a place where we value each other. It's a place where people genuinely care about the comfort and security of others. We know our purpose is to give our patients home, whatever that means to them, wherever they are. More about Our Local Non-Profit Horizon Home Care & Hospice was established in 1990 and today serves as the second largest full service home care agency and hospice in Wisconsin. We are a local, non-profit organization sponsored by Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and Columbia St. Mary's Hospital.

Hospice volunteers at Horizon serve in many different ways:
They feed our patients. They reposition our patients. they befriend and love our patients.
They offer respite and reassurance to our caregivers.
They run errands, cut lawns, and mop floors in patient homes.
They deliver a friendly smile and a meal to our homebound.
They file papers and send out mailings for numerous Horizon departments.
They serve at agency events.
They arrange flowers - hundreds and hundreds of flowers each and every week.
They welcome our bereaved in the Grief Resource Center and offer a coffee, pastry and listening ear.
They are on-call to be present for those who are actively dying.
They respect and support our staff.
As you can see, our volunteers do a lot for our organization. Come serve with us - you'll be so happy that you did.

At Horizon, you feel valued. When you leave your service experience each day, you go away with the feeling that you have given much more than your time. You've given a very special part of yourself. I have returned to Horizon as a volunteer and love helping with projects. The staff are amazing.

I've volunteered here for nearly three years. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The wide array of services are truly helpful to people. A few times a year, big events are held which are super fun. I've recommended Horizon Hospice to several people already!

The staff at Horizon Hospice are outstanding! I so enjoy being around them because, they are very helpful,kind,friendly, and just all around great people to be with. I truly wish that I could spend more time at the inpatient unit, but at this time, it is not an option for me. Anyone who who seeks the services of Horizon Hospice, are in for a very pleasant surprise! I sure hope that I may be with them for a long, long time.
