Our volunteer groups have a great impact on shop operations in many ways: * Putting out donated merchandise: Whether it’s thrift clothing or housewares, volunteers are a huge help with putting merchandise onto the sales floor. The revenue generated from sales goes into the array of services we offer! * Tidying up the space: Our volunteers assist our staff with cleaning & merchandising projects at our shops. Examples include dusting & cleaning the spaces and reorganizing the sections of the shop with your own creative style. Assisting at our Bookstore: * Stocking & Organizing: Ensuring stored donated books are placed on the proper shelves. * Donation Processing: Scanning donated book barcodes into our system, * Picking & Packing: Picking books purchased on our online shop from our shelves and packing them for delivery to our customers. Team Projects at the Processing & Distribution Center: * Donation Processing: Sort through thousands of donated items, preparing them for sale. * Quality Control: Ensure all items meet our standards, ready for the store floor. * Inventory Support: Work behind the scenes to keep our thrift operations running smoothly. Upcoming Events: During the week beginning April 21st, we are holding our largest fundraising event, Design on a Dime 2025! This year, we will be collaborating with over 50 brands and designers to create dazzling vignettes and displays at the Metropolitan Pavilion in our largest fundraising event. Mark your calendars for this wonderful opportunity to team up with other organizations to raise revenue for Housing Works! Does this sound like something you'd like your teams to get involved with?
