Mission Statement

H.O.P.E, Incorporated’s mission is to serve low-income single parents working to obtain a college degree by providing assistance in subsidized housing, childcare assistance, social services, and life skills training.

Description

H.O.P.E, Inc. (Helping Other People be Empowered) began in November 2009 as a passion and a focus of the CEO. As a former single parent who struggled to complete her B.B.A and M.B.A, she noticed that there was not much support for single parents trying to finish their education. Our mission is serving low-income single parents working to obtain a college degree by providing assistance in subsidized housing, child care assistance, social services, and life skills. The organization will assist these single-parents by providing them with subsidized housing vouchers (not exceeding $400 a month) and child care vouchers (not exceeding $100 a week) while they are attending an accredited college. (For each year enrolled in school, up to four years as long as the individual maintains a "B" grade point average). The vouchers will be directly paid to the apartment leasing offices and direct child care providers on behalf of the program participants.

H.O.P.E is an excellent chartiy that provides assistance to single families. Helping single parents get through college and be able to provide for their family is invaluable to us all. When a parent is able to provide for their family it really helps the community as a whole. Everyone in the United States benefits from having less people who depend on government resources. Society as a whole benefits when another person graduates from college. Most importantly, the family benefits. HOPE not only provides help, but they also inspire a sense of self respect, integrity, and pride. I highly reccomend this charity. They are well organized, operate with a high level of integrity and truly passionate about what they do.

I learned about H.O.P.E., Inc. on Volunteer Match. I was impressed with the passion and vision of not just the CEO, but also the other volunteers and Board members. A great thing about the organization is that there is enough vision to be able to take the skills and talents of any volunteer with a heart for their mission and connect them to work that is both meaningful and impactful. I have very much enjoyed serving H.O.P.E., Inc.
