Purpose/Objective: Contribute to providing a healthy meal for seniors and people with disabilities. Location: Northshore Senior Center or Northshore Health and Wellness Center Kitchen, Bothell WA  Time Commitment: 1 day a week, Monday-Friday, Choose your Day and Time: Community Dining Kitchen Food Prep, Service, Clean Up: Monday: 11:00am-1:00pm. Wednesday: 8:00am-11:00am or 11:00am-2:00pm Thursday: 11:00am-1:00pm Northshore Adult Day Center and Health and Wellness Kitchen Food Prep, Service, Clean Up: Monday-Friday Subs Needed as available 10:00am-1:30pm. Location: Northshore Senior Center Adult Day Health Kitchen, Bothell WA: Time Commitment: Various Shifts Available; One day a week, Key Responsibilities: Cook organizes and assigns tasks, assists in cooking. Pack meals and prepare packets for food delivery. Food Prep people assist in preparing the food according to proper health food guidelines and as assigned by the cook. All kitchen volunteers help with making sure all tasks are done and the kitchen is clean and organized at the end of the shift. Report monthly volunteer hours. If you need to miss a volunteer time, arrange for another trained volunteer to take that particular time. Work with the leader to be sure everything is done accurately. Qualifications: Able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds. Basic kitchen skills: cutting vegetable, cooking meats are a plus, but not a requirement. Must be friendly and hospitable. Must have current food handlers permit and submit a copy to Northshore Senior Center. Complete volunteer application, sign a volunteer agreement and authorize a background check. (These items will be completed prior to starting.) Training/Support Provided: One-on-one individual training provided. This training will be provided by an experienced volunteer, as assigned. These programs are designed for individuals who are experiencing intellectual disabilities and the early stages of dementia. Choose your day and program! Adult Day Health Program: Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays at NSC Health and Wellness Center Bothell 10:00am-2:00pm. Focus is on improving overall quality of life, health and increasing brain fitness. Volunteers assist with activities and programing at Kenmore Lanes, or our Health & Wellness Center. Volunteer will help individuals with exercise, lunch, games, music, and activities at our Bothell Health & Wellness Center Qualifications: Must be friendly, patient and hospitable and comfortable working with individuals with disabilities. Good people skills Must complete a volunteer application and a background check will be completed before volunteering role begins. Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

Volunteer as front desk receptionist greeting visitors and welcoming them to the center. Answer the telephone & assist with necessary office tasks, provide personal attention on occasion (i.e. conversation, walking new members to classes), provide tours of the center, take payment for classes or registration/renewals. Otago: Monday- 11:30AM-12:30PM Thursday- 11:30AM-12:30PM Enhanced Fitness Monday: 8:30AM-9:30AM Wednesday: 8:30AM-9:30AM Friday: 8:30AM-9:30AM Strength and Balance Tuesdays -8:30AM-9:30AM Thursdays- 11:00AMM-12:00PM Able to do physical exercise with or without weights, standing or seated. Comfortable in front of a classroom of students Classroom with 25-30 students of various ages and abilities Assist or instruct by doing modified exercises for students to follow along. Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
