Mission Statement

People affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever.

Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The MS Bike Tour, MS Walk and MS Challenge Walk. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.

I was around 58 when my thumb started giving me problems. As time passed i had other symptoms; hand tremors, restless sleep, muscle weakness, cognitive decline, loss of vision in an eye. At 60 i was diagnose of Multiple Sclerosis, i was on Avonex for two years, they helped alot but not for long. As the disease progressed my symptoms worsened, with my neurologist guidance i started on natural alternative Multiple Sclerosis treatment from H.H.C. (Health Herbs Cliic), the treatment worked very effectively, my severe symptoms simply vanished, i feel better now than I have ever felt and i can feel my strength again. Visit ww w. healthherbsclinic. c om. My neurologist was very open when looking at alternative medicines and procedures, this alternative MS treatment is a breakthrough. always thankful for nature that helps in managing these terrible diseases. Hope this will help somebody

I couldn't actually volunteer for the event I signed up for, so I have no information about volunteering here

The services and support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society provides is extremely critical to helping people impacted by MS. I believe the more we volunteer to support and service this invaluable cause, the chances of defeating this deadly disease increases.

I enjoyed volunteering for this organization. I always received prompt feedback to my questions prior to the event. I was very impressed when Jessica (contact person) came and introduce herself, without knowing who I was during the event.
