Are you a certified Tai Chi teacher? Would you like to gain experience and practice hours teaching? Are you interested in giving back to share your love of Tai Chi with low-income seniors? If so, our seniors would love to have you! Duties: Create, lead, and plan activities for each class. Greet attendees and make them feel welcome. Provide encouragement and relay any concerns to staff. Help residents build confidence as they learn new skills. Skills needed: Tai Chi teacher certification or in-process of receiving Friendly and patient attitude Must have excellent interpersonal skills Benefit: Volunteers will gain teaching experience with low-income seniors and underserved populations. Volunteers have the opportunity to develop and teach their own curriculum, build relationships with residents and get to know them. Give back to the community by sharing your skills and expertise with others. Time commitment: Volunteers must commit to providing classes regularly for 4 months. Classes must be held within regular business hours, prefferably once per week on a consistent basis.

You will help support the academic growth of the youth in our Expanded Learning Program and ensure they are positively engaged and invested in their learning and enrichment activities. We’re looking for volunteers who can provide a consistent weekly presence. Bonus if you love tutoring kids or have skills to share! Duties: Commit to a weekly volunteer shift Help elementary/middle school youth with academic activities Support staff with enrichment activities Work closely with ELP staff and report on any issues or get support when needed Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive personality This is a weekly volunteer opportunity. The program runs Monday through Thursday 3-5p. The volunteer will choose one day per week to provide consistent support.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with Senior residents of an affordable housing community. By empowering residents with digital skills, they can stay connected with loved ones, handle essential tasks independently, and ultimately enhance their quality of life. Duties: Commit to a weekly one- or two-hour shift to work one-on-one with residents Help attendees learn how to use their laptops, smartphones, or tablets Act as a resource and guide, helping them learn how to find resources and information Work closely with the Technology Programs Manager Skills needed: Understand how to use basic technology: laptops, smartphones, and email. Previous technology tutoring experience is preferred, but not required. Patience and an ability to explain things simply to someone who did not grow up being immersed in technology. Handling minor technical issues in the classroom Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor. Skills needed: Zumba certification, or other choreography, fitness teaching certification (or in the process of getting certification) Friendly and patient attitude Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor Benefit: Volunteers will gain teaching experience with low-income and underserved populations, as well as the opportunity to develop and teach their own curriculum. Build relationships with residents and get to know them. Give back to the community by sharing your skill and expertise with others. This is a great opportunity for certification students to get their hours. Time commitment: Volunteers should commit to providing at least six classes.
