Mission Statement

At Holt International, we seek a world where every child has the support and resources to reach their full potential -- a world where every child has a loving and secure home. Since our founding in 1956, we have worked toward our vision through programs that strengthen and preserve families that are at risk of separation; by providing critical care and support to orphaned and vulnerable children; and by leading the global community in finding families for children who need them and providing the pre- and post-adoption support and resources they need to thrive. Always, we focus on each child’s unique needs -- keeping the child’s best interest at the forefront of every decision.

Description

Around the world, we work toward our vision by providing individualized, child-focused services in 13 countries in three main program areas:

FAMILY STRENGTHENING: Our first priority is always to strengthen and preserve struggling families, whenever possible. Through nutritional, financial, health, education and counseling services, we provide the tools and resources families need to grow stable and self-reliant - addressing the root causes of child abandonment, and creating a safe, supportive environment for children to grow and thrive.

ORPHAN & VULNERABLE CHILDREN CARE: We ensure that children who have been orphaned, abandoned or separated from their families receive the highest quality care while we work to reunite them with their families or unite them with a loving adoptive family. We do this through a holistic program of medical, nutritional, educational and psychosocial services tailored to fit their individual needs and carried out in a nurturing environment.

ADOPTION SERVICES: When adoption is the best option for a child, we first strive to find a domestic adoptive family in the country of the child's birth. When international adoption is the best route to a stable, loving family, our expert team of adoption professionals works across the U.S. to find the family best suited to care for each child's unique needs. And through pre- and post-adoption support and resources, we work to ensure lifelong success for both children and their families.

I've had the opportunity to volunteer with Holt international 3 years in a row. Each time gives me renewed strength and hope for youth around the world who deserves to live a fully enriched life where they are well loved and supported in a forever family. This organization is well organized and skilled to equipped one who desires to serve in a more purposeful and impactful way.

Its a great oppurtunity to help children from different countries in need. I enjoyed being in the concert with loud music and new songs and doing the social work at the same time.

I am hoping to volunteer again for this event! I have a almost 10 month old son with some severe medical issues to include severe food allergies, milk soy protein intolerance, failure to thrive, a topic dermatitis, and a head deformity. I am a first time young mom who comes from a strong Christian family, I attend church biweekly with my family and son at a Catholic Church. I strive to be the best young mom as possible for my son even though I am disabled.

I enjoyed volunteering for the Winter Jam 2016 event. It's a wonderful cause and I would never tell anyone not to volunteer. However, the promotional aspect of the event does not really interest me, and I am not likely to do it again.
