Keep our Parks and Trails safe on the Park Patrol

Park Patrol volunteers serve as ambassadors for Columbia's parks and trails. Volunteers patrol Columbia's trails and parks, looking for suspicious activity to report to the Columbia Police Department or maintenance issues to share with Columbia Parks & Recreation. Volunteers also work with our Park Ranger to assist with special events or at high-use times in our parks. Volunteers attend a one-hour training session and are issued a badge and a t-shirt or vest to identify them as Park Patrollers.

Have fun as an Event or Festival Volunteer!

Assist with one of Columbia's special events, including our Annual Train Show, Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza, Kite Flying Day, International Festival and the many other special events we have! Beautify our city - Volunteer to Adopt-A-Spot

The City of Columbia is looking for volunteers interested in planting and maintaining landscaped beds throughout our community. Beds are located in road medians and at street intersections. Volunteers are asked to make a four year commitment to caring for a bed. Maintenance includes weeding, watering, mulching and planting annual flowers and bulbs. Compost Workshop Instructor!

Volunteers make a positive impact on waste reduction teaching and promoting residential composting. If you have experience and knowledge in home composting and would be interested in joining our team of Compost Workshop Instructors give us a call. The City of Columbia Volunteer Programs conducts multiple workshops throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity for those with composting experience to make a valuable contribution to their community.
