Mission Statement
In the spirit of Jesus Christ, Christian Community Action ministers to the poor by providing comprehensive services that alleviate suffering, bring hope and change lives.
Description
CCA was started in 1973 by seven young adults in a Bible study group committed to volunteer efforts in order to create a stronger community. Today, we continue to rely on volunteers to help us do our daily work and are blessed by the generosity of all of our many volunteers. From answering phones and assisting with mailings, to working the checkout in CCA's Food Pantry, to serving as a doctor or nurse in our health center, CCA is a wonderful place for individuals, businesses and organizations to give generously of their time, talents and compassion.

CCA is an incredible non-profit that does so much for those in need in the community. The employees are so compassionate about what they are doing. The love of Christ shows thru to those they serve as well as to their volunteers. You will be blessed by your experience.

I have been volunteering w/CCA for 19 years and am especially fond of helping to make the Thanksgiving Baskets every year. I signed up for a shift with a friend last year and was disgusted with our experience. We arrived and were not greeted for over 20 min. Finally, someone came by and told us to go stock the pantry to which we replied that we were here to help make the baskets. The man very rudely exclaimed they weren't doing that today. We decided to stay for our shift but spoke with 6 others that were told the same thing. We felt like we were in the way most of the day and had to keep asking for things to do because there just wasn't enough work for all of us. At 6pm (8hrs after we arrived), a group arrived and were warmly greeted and set up to begin making Thanksgiving baskets. The whole day was very disorganized and the staff was horrendous. We felt like we were lied to about the project in order to get us to come in and then treated very poorly all day. Very disappointed.
