Give the gift of music to a hospice patient. Patients enjoy singing and clapping to familiar tunes and experience joy in memories the music evokes. Once language fails the patient, the beauty of music can still be enjoyed and brings comfort and peace. We are seeking volunteers to provide music companionship with string instruments (guitar, violin, cello, etc), keyboard, flute or other portable instruments. Vocal talents are also invited to deliver that "extra touch" to brighten our patient's day.

We are seeking canine friends and their owners to share their companionship with our hospice patients. Pet therapy is a proven smile-maker! We love to see the joy on our patients faces when they see a four-legged friend prance down the hall into their room for a visit. Pets help patients shed anxiety, fear, and loneliness. Pets can increase socialization, even for the most stubbornly isolated patient, or decrease feelings of depression. You know how great your dog makes you feel - share that joy with others too! If you are interested in sharing smiles, please contact us now! .

What does it take to become a hospice volunteer? Start with a kind heart, good listening skills and compassion. Our volunteers offer the gift of friendship, listening to patients’ life stories, reading aloud, playing cards, or comforting patients sitting bedside holding their hands. Often a volunteer provides companionship and support when family members are not available to visit.
