Mission Statement
RWC's racing professionals are dedicated to making a difference for our next generation by meeting with as many children and teens as possible, using racers' own insights drawn from their experiences in the School of Hard Knocks on the Road to Winners' Circle to encourage them to explore their own possibilities and to instruct them in the practicalities of how to actually achieve personal dreams and goals, as well as advising them to avoid life's "potholes" in the form of drug and alcohol abuse and other self-destructive behaviors.
Description
RWC HAS TWO MAIN ACTIVITIES:
1. WE ARRANGE FOR PRO RACERS TO MEET WITH CHILDREN AND TEENS, NEAR WHERE THEY LIVE OR ARE BASED, THROUGHOUT THE U.S. TO SHARE "QUICK TIPS ON WINNING IN LIFE."
DRAWN FROM THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES LEARNED WHILE NEGOTIATING CAREER POTHOLES, ROADBLOCKS AND TRAFFIC JAMS, RACERS SHARE PERSONALIZED GUIDELINES ON HOW IMPORTANT KNOWLEDGE IS, HOW TO WORK WITH OTHER PEOPLE, HOW TO LEARN COPING SKILLS, THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING THE LONG VIEW, AND OTHER IMPORTANT PRACTICALITIES AND LIFE SKILLS.
2. ADDITIONALLY, RWC IS ORGANIZER OF THE ANNUAL FIELD TRIP PROGRAMS FOR KIDS AND TEENS HELD AT THE ACURA GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH AND AT THE NATIONAL HOT ROD ASSOCIATION'S SEASON ENDING EVENT IN POMONA, CALIFORNIA.
