Mission Statement

We mobilize people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS.

Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The MS Bike Tour, MS Walk and MS Challenge Walk. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.

After my Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, I was introduced to Health Herbs Clinic and their effective Multiple Sclerosis treatment. I immediately started on the protocol, it relieved symptoms significantly, even better than the medications I was given. Visit w w w. Healthherbsclinic. c om. First month on treatment, my tremors mysterious stopped, had improvement walking and speaking. After I completed the treatment, I recovered completely from the horrible disease.

I have not worked directly with your org but several very admirable people I worked with previously Were very involved in MS volunteering. One of them was personally affected. I don’t have a heartwarming story to offer I can only say that I admire those people and I enjoyed volunteering currently I have some time off as my job was recently eliminated, and I would love to make the most of this time by giving back to the community as much as possible. It is my hope that you will give me a call at 561-706-1510 so we can discuss how I can help you. Cheers, Mike

I have worked with this chapter for many years now. Since my nephew was diagnosed with MS, I swore I would help in anyway I can. They have several event types to choose from and within the event, several job / skill types also. The MS Walk and Bike ride fundraising events happen every year so they're fairly easy to fit into your schedule. The Service Day events help out an individual dealing with MS in their home, with minor repairs and cleaning. You start to meet people with MS and see how much your help is affecting their lives in a positive way. The experiences are always positive and leave you wanting to sign up for the next one. The Chapter itself is run by a great group of people that will work with you to always find the best volunteer match. There is no shortage of opportunities whether you're looking as an individual or a group.

The staff members are very nice and clear with instructions, and you can make a lot of new friends here.

I, myself, had a lot of fun. The people were nice and we got a lot of work done. I learned more about their organization and upcoming events. It may have just been me, but it was like a race with the way we worked- a competition. Also, although I prepared a few snacks of my own, Denise offered us sandwiches and sweets.

First I would start with a question, “How would it feel if you wake up not having normal sensations or feelings during your everyday life?, Knowing your body is attacking yourself and you have very little control.” Having a cousin with Multiple Sclerosis I understand the struggles and know there is no cure. However National MS Society is pushing efforts to find a cure. There are programs for individuals and there family members to help understand the disease and help families/individuals cope with their lives. National MS Society helps bring individuals together. There are events available monthly by the organization to help raise money, such as getting involved with local businesses. Recently MS added Drunken Donuts to their efforts. National MS Society has a wonderful site they love to get individuals, community and society involved in there efforts. They believe there is no end to their efforts till there is a cure. Even then I feel there wouldn’t be an end to National MSSocietyfight
