Help precious dogs. Adult volunteers who are very committed to positive dog-training and skilled with a wide range of large and very energetic dogs, especially pit bull terriers, German Shepherds, and Huskies, are needed. Key to success with RASKC dogs is kindness and positive reinforcement. If you become a red Dog Walker, would be working in tandem with the Animal Care Tech (employee). The ACT conveys a dog to you, whom you toke to the dog yard on RASKC's campus. While you are engaging and picking up after the dog, the ACT is cleaning the dog kennel. The ACT then calls you by Walkie Talkie when it's time to bring that dog back and retrieve a new dog. You do this until all 12 of the dog kennels in adoptions are cleaned. You get to know the personality of most of the dogs in adoptions, while you're spending between five- 15 minutes in the dog yard with them. Dog walkers are color-coded according to the type of dog they are eligible to walk. . Green: Most Dog Walkers start as color "green" are eligible to work with our friendliest dogs. . Blue: Dog Walkers who are assessed as "blue" are eligible to take out the shy dogs and the friendly dogs. . Red: Dog Walkers who are identified as "red" are eligible to walk any of the adoptable dogs, including the ones that need skillful handling. Only "red" Dog Walkers qualify to serve as Dog Yard Volunteers. Next steps * adults only * children cannot accompany their parent . Complete a general volunteer application http://www.tinyurl.com/RASKC-Vol-Apply . Complete a Dog Team application- https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DogW-applic-2024 . Complete a liability waiver- https://tinyurl.com/DocuSign4RASKC Thanks!

Got love to share? Consider becoming a foster volunteer! As a foster volunteer, you would make a short-term commitment to care for one or more animals from the shelter in your home on a temporary basis. Some cats need a break from living in a condo. Providing time in your home helps them get ready for adoption. Many cats need a quiet patch of sunlight to recover. Newborn kittens are so small, they need foster care until they're big enough to receive spay/neuter surgery. Bunnies need your love too. RASKC sometimes has dogs available to foster... and occasionally puppies. Among the animals that are eligible to be fostered, you choose which animal that will go home with you. Would you like to help? Foster volunteers are given online training, great support, and everything necessary-- e.g., free pet food, free medical care for the animal, free litter, free litter box... You can decide when the time is right for you to foster. When your foster pet is ready to be adopted, you may choose to: a) Select who the animal will be adopted to, or b) Bring the animal back to the shelter, or c) Adopt the animal yourself. If you'd like to move forward, here are the next steps: 1. One adult in your household completes an initial online application www.tinyurl.com/RASKC-Vol-Apply 2. The adult who completes and submits the online application also completes the liability-release form at https://tinyurl.com/DocuSign4RASKC Share your love and have fun as a foster parent to a furry sweetie that needs your kind care. Thanks for considering this possibility. We look forward to hearing from you...

Do you love dogs? Do you feel skilled and excited about the possibility of helping bring out the best in an adorable dog in your home for a sweetie who has shown some naughty behaviors at the shelter? If so, consider foster a dog from RASKC on a temporary basis. RASKC will provide free food and supplies, in addition- upon request- interactive dog training via Zoom at no cost to you. So many dogs reveal their true selves in a home environment, where they can relax and feel the love as preparation for adoption in the foster home or to a new adopter. If the situation does not work out as hoped, it is fine to return the animal to the shelter. Next steps: 1. Engage in the online training on RASKC's website. Go to www.kingcounty.gov/RASKCVolunteer, then scroll down to the Get Involved section and click on the plus sign (+). Watch the foster modules and complete the quizzes. 2. One adult in your household completes an initial online application- www.tinyurl.com/RASKC-Vol-Apply 3. The adult who completes the online application also completes an online liability waiver- https://tinyurl.com/DocuSign4RASKC Share your love and have fun as a foster parent to a canine sweetie who needs your kindnesses and guidance. Thanks for considering this possibility.

This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, taking out the garbage. and taking over the dirty dishes. It's a great workout! Optional: Take photographs of the cats for possible posting to RASKC's website. Commitment: six regular weekly shifts (or alternating weeks), plus a training shift, and a shelter tour. 1. Submit an initial application - www.tinyurl.com/RASKC-Vol-Apply 2. I f you are an adult, submit a liability waiver- https://tinyurl.com/DocuSign4RASKC Questions? Check out the website, www.kingcounty.gov/RASKCVolunteer. Then, if needed, contact RASKC.Volunteers@kingcounty.gov We hope to be working with you. Thanks!
